Fixtures are any type of item that is fixed to a property and usually comes with the sale.
Items such as furniture, carpets, kitchens, bathrooms and garden sheds are considered fixtures in a home, while electrical items like lights and appliances are generally known as ‘fittings’. Fixtures stay in the property after it is sold, unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties. It’s important for both buyers and sellers to be aware of which items are included in a sale so that there is no confusion or misunderstanding when it comes to what will remain with the property when it changes hands.
